Maestro Bickram Ghosh is widely considered to be one of India's greatest versatile artists. He is one of the rare artists who excels in three musical fields simultaneously. These are Indian Classical , Fusion and Film scoring . Bickram has a formidable reputation as one of the world’s greatest classical tabla players.
Amongst the numerous awards and accolades Bickram has received here are some :

The Sangeet Natak Akademi Award is the Highest National Award / Honour in Performing Arts in India

Bickram received this great award from Respected President of India Smt. Draupadi Murmu on 23 rd February at Vigyan bhavan, New Delhi.

He received the award in the rare category of contemporary music thus recognising his role as a multi-faceted global icon with contemporary relevance.

He has played on 4 Grammy nominated albums and one Grammy awarded album - Full Circle (2002) with maestro Ravi Shankar.

He has an Oscar contention for original score for the film JAL, to his credit.

Bickram has received 2 Filmfare awards for his film compositions.

Bickram received a Silver medal at the Global Music awards 2018, (USA) for his album Maya.

He received Best Music director Montreal International Film festival for the film Avijatrik.

Bickram has received 3 Global Indian Music awards .

Bickram has received 3 West Bengal Film Journalists Association awards.

Bickram has received the best background score 2020 ( Radio and music.com CLEFF Award )for his score for the Sanjay Dutt starter Torbaaz directed by Girish Malik.

Bickram released his hugely popular album “RHYTHMSCAPE “ in 2002 and went on to form his band of the same name which remains one of India’s most successful fusion outfits.

Bickram's subsequent super successful solo albums have consolidated his position as a pioneer of a new fusion sound. He has featured on over 200 music albums worldwide.

Bickram is widely recognised as one of the pioneering forces of fusion music in India in the current era.

Bickram is also an extremely successful film music director having scored for 50 feature films (39 in Bengali and 11 in Hindi) one of which got him the coveted Oscar contention.

Having performed the world over with the greatest names in classical music (especially Pt. Ravi Shankar with whom he played for over a decade).

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES :

In 2012 Bickram had recreated the Indian National song Vande Mataram with 22 of India's greatest musicians. Bickram performed at the finale of the Commonwealth Games in 2010. He represented India for the 150 years’ celebration of Rabindranath Tagore’s birth at Unesco, Paris in 2012. He composed and presented an extravaganza with 120 artists for the T20 World Cup finals in 2016. This year Bickram, along with 3 time Grammy winner Ricky Kej, composed for the prestigious Vande Bharatam project to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence which was showcased with 500 dancers of the Republic Day Parade in front of the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi.

Bickram has played time and again in some of the greatest venues of the world. Some of these are Royal Albert HallLondon; Barbican centre, London; Royal Festival Hall, London; Carnegie Hall, New York; Kennedy Centre, Washington D.C.; Cobo Arena, Detroit; Palais de Beaux Arts Brussels, Unesco, Paris; Mona Foma Australia; Royal Philharmonic Hall, Leon; etc.

GURUS :

The son and disciple of the illustrious tabla maestro Pandit Shankar Ghosh, Bickram also learnt the intricacies of Carnatic percussion from Vidwaan S.Sekhar. Pandit Ravi Shankar was also his guru.
